Leopard Week 2: Change your login (default) wallpaper

Want to replace that gorgeous space wallpaper that Apple gives you with your new build of Leopard?

All you need to do is replace the file DefaultDesktop.jpg located in /System/Library/CoreServices/

Using spotlight (now super duper fast) and type disk util and hit enter. Select your drive and run a permissions repair.

Enjoy!

    Hi,

I just tried this method and the new wallpaper only appeared behind the login screen, not the user wallpaper. I tried this by logging in with a new user.

Yeah it only applies itself to the login screen.

I’m sure there is a way to setup wallpapers for new users by default.
