Leopard Week 2: Change your login (default) wallpaper

Want to replace that gorgeous space wallpaper that Apple gives you with your new build of Leopard?
All you need to do is replace the file DefaultDesktop.jpg located in /System/Library/CoreServices/
Using spotlight (now super duper fast) and type disk util and hit enter. Select your drive and run a permissions repair.

It’s Sunday 28th of October, two days since the release of Leopard. I’ve been running OSX 10.5 since Friday and everything is working very smoothly. I love the new look and have enjoyed playing around with Time Machine. I can’t wait for some hacks to allow backing up to SMB shares!

Dashboard Widget - App Update

Here’s a great little widget. It scans all your applications and compares the version to versiontracker.com. It can get it wrong sometimes, especially with small version numbers such as (v49) etc.. All in all a great widget to have.
